Special Projects doesn’t just operate Hiab crane lorries for heavy lifting, we have other vehicles which can be used instead of or in addition to a lorry mounted crane.
Heavy Vehicles
A heavy vehicle is a lorry capable of pulling a ‘heavy’ load. Depending on the weight of the load being carried, it may require a specialist tractor unit to pull the weight of the trailer and the load.
We have specialist lorries capable of transporting loads up to 65 Tonne Gross vehicle weight or 120 Tonnes using our newer Hiab vehicles.
Drop side Pickup truck (350 L4 (ELWB)
- Features: With 6 seater crew cab
- Benefits: Useful for the provision of labour for onsite working jobs where additional vehicles are not required. Can be used for light load express deliveries i.e. parts / tooling
Ford Transit van 350 LWB
- Features: Fully equipped installations vehicle
- Benefits: Can be used as an abnormal load escort vehicle in the UK and is colour coded to meet the upcoming changes in EU regulations requiring escort vehicles used within the EU to be painted yellow
Peugeot 207 vans
Ideal for deliveries of small parts, carrying safety equipment, acting as a backup vehicle for onsite jobs.
